Clash Royale Hero Tier List — July 2026 Mid-Season

By the RoyaleTracker Team@RoyaleTrackerGGUpdated July 15, 2026

Only 14 hero cards exist in Clash Royale, and with a sample that small the tiers split hard toward the extremes. Real win rate from tracked ladder battles, not opinion, decides where each one lands.

TL;DR

Hero Barbarian Barrel is the strongest hero card this patch, S-tier at 53% win rate while also gaining popularity. Hero Knight has the highest usage of any hero at 11%, ahead of every other hero tracked, but it's only C-tier at 49%. With just 14 heroes tracked, this category has far less middle ground than Evolutions or Normal Cards, most heroes cluster near the top or the bottom rather than sitting average.

How This Tier List Works

Every card here needs a minimum usage rate to qualify. Hero cards played too rarely to generate a reliable win rate sample are excluded rather than ranked on noise. Of the 14 tracked hero cards, all cleared that bar this patch.

Tiers are set relative to the hero category average, currently 49.93% win rate, not fixed numbers. Each tier is a band around that average:

S · +2 or more
A · +0.5 to +2
B · within ±0.5
C · -0.5 to -2
D · -2 or more

We also track Clean Win Rate (CWR), a card's win rate specifically against decks that don't run that same card. It strips out any inflation from mirror matchups. This patch, CWR tracks within a point of regular win rate across nearly every hero card, so it's shown as a reference stat rather than a separate ranking signal.

Hero Barbarian Barrel leads the category at 53% win rate, and it's doing it while also gaining popularity (usage up 1.4 points), the only S-tier hero rising on both fronts at once. Hero Goblins sits right behind at 52%, holding its win rate flat while usage climbs. Hero Balloon rounds out the tier at 52% too, but it's the one doing it while actually losing popularity, quietly winning without the crowd following.

Unlike Evolutions, where A-tier is the deepest tier in the category, Heroes only has four cards here, all packed within a point of 51%. Every single one of them is trending up on both win rate and usage this patch, Hero Bowler leads the win-rate climb at +1 point, Hero Ice Golem leads the usage climb at +0.5. None of these four are used by more than 5% of decks, meaning almost a third of the strongest hero cards in the game right now are still flying under the radar.

B Tier Heroes

Hero Dark Prince is the only hero card sitting exactly at the category average this patch, both its win rate and usage ticking down slightly. With just one card landing in B-tier out of 14 tracked, the Hero category splits toward extremes far harder than Evolutions or Normal Cards. There simply isn't much genuinely coin-flip middle ground here.

Hero Knight is the headline story down here. It's used in 11% of decks, easily the most-played hero card in the game (the next closest, Hero Goblins, sits at 9%), yet it sits at only 49% win rate, C-tier. Hero Tombstone is worth watching too: its win rate jumped 3.5 points this patch, the single biggest swing of any hero card tracked, even though it's still only C-tier at 49% for now.

At the bottom, Hero Magic Archer is the one hero declining on every front, down 1.8 points in win rate and down 1.8 points in usage in the same patch. If it's in your deck, it's worth swapping out until the next update.

Sleeper Picks Worth Trying

A few hero cards are quietly performing well without the usage numbers to match, meaning most of the ladder hasn't caught on yet.

Should You Trust a Card's Win Rate Alone?

Win rate is the best single signal available, but it's not the whole picture. A hero card's win rate reflects the deck it's built into as much as the card itself. A hero sitting in C or D tier isn't necessarily bad, it might just need a better supporting deck.
